‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ Series Officially Announced For Disney+

Disney/Lucasfilms

As it was reported just last week, a new Star Wars universe series is in the works for Disney+ from Jon Watts and Jon Favreau. Today additional details have been released for the series

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will star Jude Law in the series set in The Mandalorian timeline (post-Return of the Jedi), in an era centered around the reconstruction of the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. The series is described as a coming-of-age adventure story reminiscent of Amblin films from the ’80s. Outside of these very broad details, the exact plot of the series is being kept under wraps for now. The series was initially working under the title Grammar Rodeo, an iconic episode of The Simpson’s where Bart and his friends use a fake license to rent a car and run away for a week, using a made-up educational event (a grammar rodeo) as a cover.

The exclusive Disney+ series is created and executive produced by Watts and Chris Ford. The pair will produce alongside Favreau and Dave Filoni. Exact plot details and the identity of Law’s character are still being kept under wraps.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will stream exclusively on Disney+ sometime in 2023. Stay tuned with Nerds & Beyond for more updates here on the series as they come.
