Six Adam Driver Films & Series You Can Stream Right Now

Share:

Academy Award nominee Adam Driver is quickly becoming a household name, with his recent roles in House of Gucci, Marriage Story, and his role as the troubled Kylo Ren in Star Wars.

Driver got his start at Julliard, before starting to make a name for himself on HBO’s Girls, where he was the goofy but loveable Adam Sackler. Driver really catapulted into the spotlight when he was cast in J.J. Abram’s Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, and his career has never been the same since. He’s been nominated for two Academy Awards — one for his role in BlacKkKlansman, and again for his role in Marriage Story.

Driver will soon be seen in the upcoming films White Noise and 65. Until then, here are six films and series you can stream with Driver in them right now.

Star Wars – Disney+

Lucasfilm/Disney

We have to start off here with the dark, brooding, and troubled Kylo Ren. Driver portrayed the character in Episode VII – The Force Awakens, Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, and Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. While Kylo was made to be out the villain, Driver played him in such a way that you knew there was much more to the story; his emotions and expressions told a story all of their own.

His work throughout the trilogy made him a beloved character, with The Rise of Skywalker being the best work of the series.

Marriage Story – Netflix

Netflix

Switching gears completely, this is a role that earned Driver his second Academy Award nomination. Marriage Story is an intricate look at a marriage falling apart, and Driver’s performance in this is nothing short of spectacular. He and Scarlett Johansson really rose to the occasion, and Driver gives a very emotional and raw performance.

House of Gucci – HBO Max

House of Gucci/Lady Gaga

House of Gucci is the most recent of projects on this list, and one that’s just as good. Driver plays Maurizio Gucci, who was murdered, and the film takes you through his rise through Gucci and the events that led to his death. Driver plays a quiet Gucci, who enhances his performance with little nuances in his actions to really accentuate the character. He and Lady Gaga’s chemistry is so fun to watch, while the story is so heartbreaking.

Logan Lucky – Hulu

If you’re in the mood for a fun film, look no further. Channing Tatum and Driver make a dynamic duo as Jimmy and Clyde, respectively, as they attempt to pull off a robbery. The film is filled with fun moments, a stellar cast, and is an overall heartwarming movie.

Girls – HBO Max

HBO

Ever wonder where the “Good Soup,” TikTok sound comes from? From Adam Driver’s character in Girls. In the HBO series, Driver plays Adam Sackler, a goofy character who becomes entangled with Lena Dunham’s Hannah. His time on the screen is electric, and he has good character growth here. It’s one of Driver’s early acting projects, so it’s fun to watch see where he started and where he is now.

This is Where I Leave You – HBO Max

WB

In This is Where I Leave You, Driver joins a talented cast of Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Jane Fonda, Rose Byrne, Katherine Hahn, and more. Driver plays the reckless Phillip, who comes back to mourn the loss of his father with his family. The film has a great story, great acting, and some humorous moments provided by Driver’s Phillip.

Driver’s list of credits is huge, so it doesn’t end here. There are plenty of other great films you can watch him in.

Driver is getting ready to film Enzo Ferrari where he’ll be portraying the title character in a story about the famous sports car entrepreneur. White Noise and 65 are set to be released soon.
