‘Echo’ Officially Starts Production!

The highly anticipated Disney+ Marvel series Echo is now in production in Atlanta!

Echo will follow Maya Lopez/Echo (Alaqua Cox), who was first introduced in Hawkeye. New cast members include Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene, as well as Zahn McClarnon reprising his Hawkeye role as Maya’s father. Disney+ also released a new synopsis for the series along with a first look image!

“The origin story of ‘Echo’ revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.”

Aside from its diverse cast, Echo will feature Indigenous and Deaf voices behind the scenes as well, including Shoshannah Stern, Josh Feldman, and more. Episodes of the series are directed by Sydney Freeland (Navajo) and Catriona McKenzie (Gunaikurnai). Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre and Jason Gavin (Blackfeet). Co-executive producers are Amy Rardin, Sydney Freeland, Christina King (Seminole) and Jennifer Booth.

Echo will premiere on Disney+ in 2023. Stay tuned for more news as it comes in!
