The Academy Award-winning director and writer behind Promising Young Woman, Emerald Fennell, has a new film in the works. While details on the film remain scarce, today Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike has been confirmed for the cast, marking the first official casting announcement for the film.

The news was first reported by Deadline, who claims that a source has provided them with additional details for the film. If the information is correct, the film will be titled Saltburn and will follow an aristocratic family in England.

This film will be Fennell’s second feature film following 2020’s Promising Young Woman, which received the Academy Award for Best Screenplay. The combination of Fennell’s unique storytelling capabilities and Pike’s ability to showcase an immense acting range will almost certainly lead to an intricate and compelling story.

Stay tuned with Nerds & Beyond as details on this film develop.
