‘Scream’ Sequel: Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, & Mason Gooding All To Return
Following the success of Scream (2022), Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures confirmed there will be a sixth theatrical installment to the 25-year-old franchise in February.
Today, the production companies confirmed that there will be at least four returning cast members from Scream (2022) — Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega reprising their roles as sisters Sam and Tara, and Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding returning as twins Mindy and Chad. While additional details have been kept relatively scarce on the Scream (2022) sequel thus far, Courteney Cox did confirm to Variety in March that she would also return for the sixth installment, reprising her role as Scream legend Gale Weathers.
The creative team behind 2022’s Scream is returning, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directing and James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick returning to pen the script. Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak will produce with Kevin Williamson, Chad Villella, Gary Barber, and Peter Oillataguerre as executive producers. Production is set to begin on the film next month.
The Scream sequel will slash into theaters March 31, 2023. Follow along with Nerds & Beyond here as the sixth big-screen return of Ghostface unfolds here.
