Marvel fans, get ready for your next game night with UNO Ultimate! UNO Ultimate is a premium version of UNO that shakes up the rules of the classic game by adding Marvel-themed twist.
Rather than cutting cards from a single deck, UNO Ultimate comes with four Character Decks for iconic Marvel heroes: Iron Man, Black Panther, Thor, and Captain Marvel. Players each select their own deck to use for the duration of the game, which includes cards specifically designed for their chosen superhero and a designated special power that can be used every turn.
To up the stakes, this game also incorporates a “Danger Deck,” which is activated when a player adds a card from their hand with a Danger Icon to the Central Play Pile. Getting rid of certain cards from your hand now comes with a price! The Danger Deck holds Event and Enemy cards, which are specific to the active character decks currently in use for a particular game. For example, Killmonger and Baron Zemo are both Enemy cards from Black Panther’s deck. Once an Enemy card has been drawn, the player must play the type of card required to defeat it or else they will suffer the effects listed on the card each turn. Event cards may vary, with instructions such as forcing all players to add two cards to their hands. When in play, Enemy and Event cards can quickly shift the balance of power in the game.
When all is said and done, the main purpose of UNO Ultimate is still to race to be the first to get rid of all of your cards before your fellow opponents … and don’t forget to yell “UNO!” when you’re down to your final card! Players can also win the game by being the last person with cards still available in their Character Deck.
UNO Ultimate was created with card collectors in mind, because each Core package game comes with a randomized pack of four collectible foil cards. The cards are collectible versions of Wild and Character cards that can be swapped out for their regular counterparts in the character decks. There are five levels of rarity for these cards, from Common to Ultra Rare.
For those hoping to add additional character decks to their UNO Ultimate collection, UNO Ultimate Marvel Add-On Packs will soon be available as well. The Add-On Packs feature other Marvel characters, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch, and also include two premium foil collectible cards!
