Searchlight Pictures’ The Banshees Of Inisherin from Martin McDonagh will open in the United States as a limited release on October 21, 2022. The announcement comes from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures’ most recent release calendar bulletin, which also revealed two untitled Searchlight Pictures projects have been removed.

Starring Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, Brendan Gleeson, and Kerry Condon, the upcoming drama follows a pair of lifelong friends on a remote Irish island who find themselves at an awkward time in their relationship when one of them no longer wants to be friends.

McDonagh penned the script for the film about unravelling friendship in addition to directing and producing. Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin of Blueprint Pictures are producing for Searchlight Pictures and Film4.

Stay tuned for more updates ahead of the film’s release.
