The Crawleys Are Back in ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’ Official Trailer
While we still have a bit longer to wait to reunite with the Crawleys following the latest release date shuffle for Downton Abbey: A New Era, the film’s official trailer is finally here.
Downton Abbey was a television series that began in 2010 ran for six seasons, set in the early 1900s and following the lives of the British aristocratic Crawley family and their servants. The historical drama continued on in 2019 with a film that picked back up in 1927, detailing a visit by the King and Queen to the Crawley’s English country house in the Yorkshire countryside. Meanwhile, Downton Abbey: A New Era will see our characters go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa.

The original principal cast of Downton Abbey is set to return for the film, as well as newcomers Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, Dominic West, and Jonathan Zaccaï.
Downton‘s creator, Academy Award winner Julian Fellowes, returns to write the film’s screenplay, with Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge back to produce. Simon Curtis serves as director.
Downton Abbey: A New Era will hit theaters on May 20.
