SXSW Announces ‘The Boys’ Panel Featuring Eric Kripke, Karl Urban, Jensen Ackles & More!

Ahead of the highly anticipated season 3 premiere of Prime Video’s hit show The Boys, South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals has announced that there will be a Featured Session this year for the diabolical series.

The panel will include executive producer Eric Kripke and actors Karl Urban, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Jensen Ackles. Together, they’ll dive into the intersections of superhero and celebrity culture, the zeitgeist shattering epic moments that redefined the genre, and offer up insights on how The Boys has navigated key moments of cultural inflection while subverting expectations.

The panel is currently scheduled to run from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CT on March 12.

The Boys, which is based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes — who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods — abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as the Boys continue on a heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven, and Vought — the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes and covers up all of their dirty secrets.

The first three episodes of season 3 of The Boys are set to land on Prime Video on June 3. In the meantime, fans can tune in for the premiere of The Boys Presents: Diabolical, an animated anthology series set within the world of The Boys, when it premieres on March 4.

This year marks the 36th edition of SXSW’s annual conference, which celebrates the convergence of the technology, film, and music industries. SXSW 2022 will take place March 11-20 in Austin, Texas. For more information, please visit sxsw.com. To register for the event, visit sxsw.com/attend.
