‘Kung Fu’ Star Yvonne Chapman Joins ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

Newly minted Kung Fu series regular Yvonne Chapman has joined the expanding cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender for Netflix! The series is a live action adaptation of the beloved animated series that aired on Nickelodeon from 2005-08. Chapman will play Avatar Kyoshi, “a legendary warrior revered for her bravery, fearsome fighting skills, and uncompromising dedication to the cause of justice.”

Netflix also announced that Elizabeth Yu, Tamlyn Tomita, Casey Camp-Horinek, and Maria Zhang have joined the already-announced ensemble of Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Lim Kay Siu, Ken Leung, and Daniel Dae Kim. Avatar: The Last Airbender is currently filming in Vancouver, with no release date set yet.
