‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Confirmed by Director Hwang Dong-hyuk

In an interview with the Associated Press, writer/director of Netflix’s megahit Squid Game Hwang Dong-hyuk has confirmed that a second season is on the way.

No specific plot details or release dates have been set for the next season, since it is still in the very early planning stages. But Hwang has promised that our hero Gi-hun will return to “do something for the world.”

The Korean survival drama premiered on Netflix in September and quickly became the service’s most popular original series, holding the number one spot on Netflix’s top 10 most popular shows and movies for four consecutive weeks. At the time of this writing, it is still listed in the service’s top 10 shows, sitting at number 7.
