Hey all you cool cats and kittens: get ready for season 2 of the quarantine-shaping, unforgettable documentary experience that was Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness. You probably found yourself wondering, “Hey, what happens after all of this?” following season 1 of Tiger King like the rest of us. Hopefully soon we will all get some long-desired answers about the continued tales of Joe Exotic and the big cat world.

You can check out a quick preview of season 2 here as part of the announcement for Netflix’s upcoming true crime slate.

Tiger King took over the internet following its March 2020 release, streaming on a whopping 64 million household screens within its first four weeks on Netflix. Audiences sunk their teeth into the story of eccentric roadside zoo owning Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic. Following the story of Exotic and his eventual arrest in the murder-for-hire plot against big cat rival Carole Baskin. Tiger King initially received seven episodes, but producers have long stated they have plenty more footage. Producers Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin are returning for Tiger King 2.

It is currently unknown what key players in this story will be featured in Tiger King 2 beyond Exotic. Will fans receive follow-up documentary on the controversy surrounding the disappearance of Baskin’s first husband, Jack “Don” Lewis? Will the follow-up season delve into the federal seizure of more than five dozen big cats from Jeff Lowe following being accused of violating the Endangered Species Act in May? Or will we focus on the indictment of big cat “zoo” owner Bhagavan “Doc” Antle on wildlife trafficking charges back in October of 2020?

We will simply all have to wait in eager anticipation to see what season 2 has in store for us. While Tiger King 2 does not yet have a specific release date, Netflix says fans can look forward to this clawing its way onto streaming services late fall of this year.
