Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke are heading to screen together as half brothers in the Apple Original Film Raymond and Ray.

Telling the story of the duo as they deal with the death of their terrible father, Raymond and Ray follows the brothers as they reinvent themselves. Maintaining their sense of humor, there’s anger, pain, folly, maybe some love, and definitely some grave-digging.

McGregor is a four-time Primetime Emmy nominee, currently nominated for Lead Actor in the Limited Series category for his title role in Netflix’s Halston. However, you may know him from his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars films, a role he will reprise in the upcoming Disney+/Lucasfilm series.

Hawke is a four-time Oscar nominee for Boyhood (Supporting Actor), Before Midnight (Adapted Screenplay), Before Sunset (Adapted Screenplay), and Training Day (Supporting Actor). You can also catch him in upcoming films Knives Out 2 and The Black Phone among others.

The film will be written and directed by Rodrigo García (In Treatment, Albert Nobbs) and produced by Oscar winner Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity and Roma), Bonnie Curtis (Saving Private Ryan, Albert Nobbs), and Julie Lynn (Albert Nobbs, To the Bone). Gabriela Rodriguez and Shea Kammer serve as executive producers.

Raymond and Ray is the latest in an outstanding lineup from Apple Original Films. Joining the likes of Sundance Pickup CODA; Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro; Finch, the latest film starring Tom Hanks; upcoming YA adaptation The Sky is Everywhere, directed by Josephine Decker and starring Grace Kaufman, Cherry Jones, and Jason Segel; and more.
