This Wednesday, James McAvoy fans can catch the actor on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The episode will be hosted by Sarah Silverman, and other guests include Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and indie pop singer-songwriter morgxn.

McAvoy is best known for this portrayal of Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise following the 2011 film First Class. He also put on an incredibly impressive performance in M. Night Shyamalan’s thrillers Split and Glass. Other notable roles in his filmography include Atonement and Filth.

He stars in the recently released pandemic drama Together, in which a husband and a wife (Sharon Horgan) are forced to re-evaluate themselves and their relationship through the reality of lockdown. The UK film is due to release in the US later this month on August 27.

The actor also appeared on an episode of The Great British Bake Off earlier this year as a part of the annual The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off.

As for his upcoming projects, McAvoy has a voice role in the adventure video game Twelve Minutes alongside Willem Dafoe and Daisy Ridley. He will also star in My Son, an English language remake of Christian Carion’s thriller about a man whose son is kidnapped. Fans of Audible’s audio adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s graphic novel series The Sandman can look forward to hearing McAvoy reprise his role as Morpheus in The Sandman: Act II when it releases on September 22.

Finally, we’re hoping to see more of McAvoy’s Lord Asriel in the third and final season of the series His Dark Materials, which began filming in June.

Don’t miss James McAvoy on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on August 11.
