Netflix has announced a new limited series headed to the streaming service soon. Echoes will star Matt Bomer alongside Michelle Monaghan in this mind-bending psychological thriller.
Echoes is in the mystery thriller genre and centers around two sisters Leni and Gina, who just happen to be identical twins. For their entire lives these twins have kept a dangerous secret from those around them. Since childhood they have swapped lives, this continued into their adult lives as they share homes, husbands, and even a child. Soon their perfectly laid plans come crashing down when one of the sisters goes missing. Both of the sisters will be played by the talented Monaghan.
Bomer will be playing Jack Beck, Leni’s husband. Deadline describes the character as “the boy-next-door who grew up to be the husband everybody wishes they had: soulful, a loving father and a valuable member of the community who runs a successful veterinary practice and horse farm on the land that has been in his family for generations. When his wife disappears mysteriously, it’s Jack who has the most to lose as her secret life comes to the surface.”
Brian Yorkey, known from his work on 13 Reasons Why, will be a co-showrunner and serve as an executive producer on the series. Echoes was written and created by Vanessa Gazy who will be an executive producer on the project alongside Quinton Peeples, who will also be a co-showrunner with Yorkey. Other executive producers include Imogen Banks and Endemol Shine Banks Australia.
