‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Has Begun Filming!

The third Ant-Man film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, has officially begun filming!

Director of all three Ant-Man films, Peyton Reed, shared an image of the famed creepy bunny stuffed animal belonging to Cassie Lang in celebration of day one of principal photography.

Marvel has not revealed any secrets about the plot of the third installment of the series, but there are a few key details and castings we do know. Our main four are returning; Paul Rudd is back as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/Wasp, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. We also have some big newcomers as well. First, Kathryn Newton (Supernatural, Big Little Lies) is in as an older Cassie Lang. If we have to guess, she’ll be inching closer to taking up her Young Avengers role as Stature. Also, Jonathan Majors will be stepping into his role as Kang the Conqueror.

Majors played He Who Remains in the Loki finale, a Variant of the villain Kang, making his grand MCU debut. His appearance in the series was a shock, and the lighthearted Variant made some viewers nervous about the future portrayal of one of the Marvel comics’ best villains. However, fear not because He Who Remains is only a Variant and not what we should expect from Majors’ villainous Conqueror going forward.

Following the release of Black Widow, Marvel is set to release three more films in 2021. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings premieres on September 3, Eternals on November 5, and Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17. In 2022, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens on March 25, Thor: Love and Thunder on May 6, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on July 8, and The Marvels on November 11.

Alongside the films, new Disney+ series are also set to debut. First, the animated anthology series What If…? will debut on Disney+ on Wednesday, August 10. In addition, Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel will both premiere before the end of 2021. Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Secret Invasion are all set for 2022 releases.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will open Marvel’s 2023 releases on February 17, 2023. You can catch up with the first two films, and Scott Lang’s other MCU appearances, on Disney+.
