Today, Apple TV+’s hit freshmen comedy Ted Lasso received 20 nominations at the 73rd Emmy Awards. The most ever for a freshmen comedy, knocking out Glee from the top spot.

Among those 20 nominations were Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Sound Editing For a Comedy Series (Half-Hour) and Animation.

See what some of the nominees had to say below!

CATEGORY: OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL MAIN TITLE THEME MUSIC

ā€œWe are both chuffed to bits to be recognised for our work on ‘Ted Lasso’. It is a wonderful show to be involved in. The main theme was the first thing we wrote and it was a statement of intent. It helped us work out the sound for the show and focus on organic sounds with a transatlantic quality. It is the DNA that holds the whole score together. We are truly grateful for this nomination and would like to thank Apple TV+, Warner Bros, Bill Lawrence and especially Jason Sudeikis for his unwavering vision and faith in us. Believe.”

OUTSTANDING SINGLE-CAMERA PICTURE EDITING FOR A COMEDY SERIES

“It is a joy and honor to be recognized by our peers with an Emmy nomination. Like soccer, picture editing is a team sport and we are beyond thrilled that our entire team in Post Production, sound editing, mixing and music were also nominated. We have enjoyed an amazing ride in the cutting rooms and are grateful to be included on Team Lasso by Jason Sudekis and Bill Lawrence. It is a pleasure to collaborate with them so closely in crafting the stellar performance of this ensemble cast, and all of Team Richmond coming together like true Diamond Dogs.”

OUTSTANDING SOUND EDITING FOR A COMEDY OR DRAMA SERIES (HALF-HOUR) AND ANIMATION

“Wow! To be considered by our peers as being worthy of an Emmy nomination is humbling. So much quality sound work is being created by so many talented people out there. We are honored and appreciative that the heart and soul we pour into the ‘Ted Lasso’ soundtrack is recognized. Thank you to Bill, Jason, the ‘Ted Lasso’ Family and our friends at Apple TV+!”
