‘Babylon’ Adds Tobey Maguire, Phoebe Tonkin, and More to Cast

Paramount’s Babylon has added four new members to its cast. Phoebe Tonkin, Tobey Maguire, Olivia Wilde, and Spike Jonze round out the period drama. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report.

As we previously reported, the quartet joins an already star-studded cast which includes Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, and Katherine Waterston as leads. Max Minghella, Samara Weaving, Lukas Haas, Flea, Rory Scovel, Eric Roberts, P.J. Byrne, and Damon Gupton also star.

Babylon will follow the film industry’s transitional period from silent films to talkies. Along the way, it will explore different characters that are a mix of historical and fictional. At this time character descriptions and further details about the film are under wraps. However, it’s clear that with a cast of this caliber, it’s going to generate a lot of buzz.

Damien Chazelle writes and will direct. Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe, and Marc Platt are set to produce, with Tobey Maguire attached to executive produce. It will open in a limited capacity on December 25, 2022, before a wide release on January 6, 2023.
