Damien Chazelle’s upcoming feature Babylon has added eight new members to its cast. Max Minghella, Samara Weaving, Flea, Lukas Haas, Rory Scovel, Eric Roberts, P.J. Byrne, and Damon Gupton have been cast in the period drama. They join the previously announced Margot Robbie, Katherine Waterston, Diego Calva, Brad Pitt, Jovan Adepo, and Li Jun Li.
Babylon is set in the 1920s and will chronicle the film industry’s transition from silent films to talkies, exploring the lives of different characters along the way. The film will feature a mixture of historical and fictional characters, which are currently being kept under wraps.
Chazelle writes and will direct the film. Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe, and Marc Platt are set to produce, with Tobey Maguire attached to executive produce.
Babylon is currently scheduled to release in select theaters on December 25, 2022 with a wide release set for January 6, 2023.
