Madelaine Petsch is trading in her pom poms for fate. The Riverdale actress is joining Emma Roberts in a new film that is all about it.
Via an exclusive from Deadline, Petsch has been cast in new romantic comedy About Fate with Roberts, Thomas Mann, Anna Akana, and Lewis Tan. Tiffany Paulsen wrote the film and Marius Weisberg is directing, with Vincent Newman producing.
Per the outlet,
“The film tells the tale of two people who believe in love, but seem to never be able to find its true meaning. In a wild twist of events, fate puts each in the other’s path on a stormy New Year’s Eve and comedy and chaos ensue.”
Petsch will play Mann’s girlfriend, who is thrilled he’s going to propose on New Year’s Eve. It’s an event that she’s been orchestrating for Instagram with her enthusiasm and attention to detail. Filming reportedly begins this month in Boston.
Riverdale will return from its midseason hiatus in August, and will also premiere its sixth season later this fall on The CW.
