Ted Lasso is back!

The second season of Apple’s charming, heartwarming, and utterly hilarious sports comedy Ted Lasso is on the way. The streaming service confirmed today that the second season will premiere in just a few months on July 23.

Ted Lasso, which is developed by Bill Lawrence, Jason Sudeikis, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt, follows the story of a US American football coach that’s hired to manage a struggling English football team in the UK. Portrayed by the Sudeikis, Ted is in way over his head with this job, but his unyielding optimism perseveres. Other cast members include Hunt, Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, and more. This show has deservedly left its mark on this year’s awards season, including but not limited to a triple win in the comedy category at the Critics Choice Awards and a Golden Globe win for Sudeikis.

In addition the premiere date announcement, the season 2 teaser trailer has also been revealed!

If these two minutes are anything to go by, we’re in for another splendid, beautiful, and entertaining ride with our favorite mustached coach and his team. We’ve even been given a peek at series newcomer Sarah Niles, who portrays the AFC Richmond’s sports psychologist Sharon. And it looks like she might be someone who Ted can’t win over with his biscuits.

Season 2 of Ted Lasso will consist of 12 episodes, and a third season has already been confirmed as well. If you’ve yet to watch this incredible series or if you have a friend or two that needs convincing, have a look at our top five reasons why you need to check Ted Lasso out immediately.
