Comedians discuss an oddball comic in this week’s episode of Screw It, We’re Just Gonna Talk About Comics as author, comedian, and podcast host Chris Gethard (Beautiful/Anonymous, Planet Scum) makes a guest appearance.

If you are not familiar with Screw It, We’re Just Gonna Talk About Comics, it is a podcast for comic lovers. The show’s official description reads:

“COMIC BOOKS! The mythic stories! The dazzling colors! The memorable, often iconic, characters! Join brothers Kevin and Will Hines ā€” two comedians from the UCB Theatre ā€” as they discuss the comics they have loved their whole lives! Season one dove deep on 1960s Spider-Man, and the current season is swimming in the insanely great 1960s run of Jack Kirbyā€™s Fantastic Four! Donā€™t miss an issue (episode)!”

In each episode, the brothers Kevin and Will Hines and their guests dive into a specific comic or comic arc, discussing it in the way only comic fans know how. This week, the brothers were joined by Chris Gethard to discuss the unique story arc that was Frog Thor. In the mid-1980s, Walt Simonson’s legendary run on Thor took a polarizing turn as the Thunder God got turned into a frog, and this week’s Screw It, We’re Just Gonna Talk About Comics takes a deep look at this story that had fans so split. Along the way, Gethard also discusses everything from his love of Mark Gruenwald’s Captain America run to why the X-Men resonate so much. With three comedians on, quite a bit of improv talk is thrown into the mix as well.
