The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) revealed today that E3 will return this year for a free all virtual event set to take place June 12-15.

E3 is a yearly event that showcases new and upcoming releases in video games and adjacent products. Along with the return announcement, Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Koch Media have already confirmed attendance with more to be announced at a later date.

Because the expo is completely virtual this year, that means there will be greater opportunities for people to participate. In a statement to the press, Stanley Pierre-Louis, President and CEO of the ESA, described the excitement for the reimagined event.

“We are evolving this year’s E3 into a more inclusive event, but will still look to excite the fans with major reveals and insider opportunities that make this event the indispensable center stage for video games.”

While this year’s event is virtual, they are still holding out hope that an in person expo will take place in 2022. For more information, head to the E3 Expo website.
