Last month, a new movie reuniting Christian Bale and director Scott Cooper was announced, titled The Pale Blue Eye. Now, Netflix has revealed that the upcoming film will find its home on the streaming platform.

The Pale Blue Eye is a gothic horror thriller that will focus on a series of murders that occurred at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point in 1830. Bale will play the detective investigating the case, who will be joined by a young cadet who later becomes known as Edgar Allan Poe.

This will be the third project involving Bale and Cooper. The two previously worked together on the 2013 film Out of the Furnace and the the 2017 film Hostiles.

There is currently no projected release for when The Pale Blue Eye will land on Netflix. However, filming is scheduled to begin sometime this fall, so it’s possible the film will arrive on the streamer in mid to late 2022. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
