Deadline is reporting that Supergirl‘s very own Azie Tesfai is showing off her talents both on and off the screen for the series’ final season. As well as starring in the show as Kelly Olsen, Tesfai co-wrote the 12th episode of the season with supervising producer J. Holtham. David Ramsey (Arrow) is set to direct the episode. Tesfai will be the first cast member to write an episode.
Tesfai joined Supergirl in season 4, introducing viewers to Kelly Olsen, James’ Olsen’s sister. She is a US Army veteran, a psychologist who specializes in PTSD, and a lesbian (who eventually begins a relationship with Alex Danvers). Later in the show, she steps into a major new job with Obsidian, using her own unique experience to help protect National City along with the DEO and Supergirl.
Supergirl will return for a sixth and final season on The CW. Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Nicole Maines, Jesse Rath, and Katie McGrath also star. Catch up on the first five seasons now on Netflix.
