Supernatural fandom, it’s time to do some good. As part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Misha Collins and Random Acts are holding an initiative to combat food insecurity with the goal of feeding 10,000 people in need!

A brief description of the project’s goal can be found below.

As we begin 2021, we’re moving from a period of divisiveness into a period filled with new opportunities for service. To embrace the spirit of this new era, we are challenging you to join us for a Day of Service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., as we attempt to feed 10,000 experiencing food insecurity!

There are a variety of ways that you can help accomplish this goal, ranging from monetary donations to small, community-based acts that Random Acts is so fond of.

STEP ONE: On or before Monday, January 18, donate as many meals as you can to those affected by the turbulent times humanity is facing. You can achieve this in any way you like, but here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Make a food donation to your local homeless shelter or food bank
  • Order groceries for a struggling family in your community (outside your own household)
  • Provide a contactless, socially-distanced meal to someone undergoing hardship*
  • Create “snack bags” of prepackaged foods for people experiencing homelessness*
  • Pledge to volunteer for organizations that fight food insecurity
  • Make a donation to Random Acts’ Serving Hope program, which will provide education and resources to marginalized communities

STEP TWO: Post images or videos of your Serving Hope action on social media tagged #RAServingHope and #DayOfService so we can celebrate your accomplishments. Make sure to state how many people you fed, too. Every meal makes a world of difference!

STEP THREE: PLEDGE TO HELP US BUILD A KINDER FUTURE. Fill out the form on this page to share your Day of Service story with us, then pledge to take action with us on future initiatives to change the world through Random Acts of Kindness! We’ll help you to take action through individual acts and ambitious initiatives that empower you to help make a difference in your community and around the world.

Misha Collins will also be holding a livestream event with Rachel Miner to kick off the event. You can find the link for registration in the tweet below.
