Little Mix Scores Fifth Number 1 Single With “Sweet Melody”

After a week of intense effort by Mixers everywhere, Little Mix has scored their fifth U.K. number 1 hit with “Sweet Melody”! The single is from their new album Confetti, which peaked at number 2 on the albums chart after its release. The milestone is bittersweet, as it also marks the group’s final number 1 hit with member Jesy Nelson, who recently announced that she would be leaving the group after almost 10 years. The now-trio of Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall will continue as a group.

Little Mix previously scored number one hits with “Cannonball,” “Wings,” “Shout Out To My Ex,” and “Black Magic.” They now have the most number ones of any contestant of the U.K. version of The X Factor (including One Direction). The group recorded a short video to thank their fans for the honor, which you can watch below.
