First Look Images of Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’ Released by Entertainment Weekly

The director’s cut of Justice League is not the only thing Zack Snyder has up his sleeve. Coming to Netflix this year is the horror sci-fi Army of the Dead. This will be the second zombie film from the director, who previously directed the 2004 Dawn of the Dead.

The movie’s plot will see a group of mercenaries who are going to attempt to do a heist like no other. They will be entering the quarantine zone of Las Vegas called the quarantine zone for an excellent reason: Las Vegas has had a zombie outbreak. Will they make it and succeed in pulling off a heist that as deadly obstacles?

In an exclusive with Entertainment Weekly, Snyder released some first-look images and talked about the upcoming movie. When talking about the film, Snyder said,

It is a full-blown, balls-to-the-wall zombie heist movie, so it’s genre-on-genre in a great way. So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get that, 100 percent. But also, you get these really amazing characters on a fantastic journey. It’s going to surprise people that there’s a lot of warmth and real emotion with these great characters.

Army of the Dead will star Dave Bautista, Garret Dillahunt, Ana de la Reguera, Ella Purnell, Samantha Win, Tig Notaro, Matthias Schweighöfer, Omari Hardwick, Raúl Castillo, Ryan Watson, Theo Rossi, and more. The film is directed by Snyder and co-written with Shay Hatten and Joby Harold. It will have music by Junkie XL.
