A Quarantine Romance Is Brewing in ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Season 2 Exclusive First Look from TVLine
Anything can happen in quarantine during a global pandemic, even getting closer to your ex. In an exclusive first look from TVLine for 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s second season, it seems like Owen (Rob Lowe) and his ex-wife, Gwenyth (Lisa Edelstein), are enjoying each other’s company.
New York powerhouse lawyer, Gwenyth Morgan, comes to Austin after learning her son, T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein), was shot towards the end of the previous season. Executive producer and co-showrunner Rashad Raisani explains to TVLine that “in a twist of fate, she ended up quarantining with Owen and T.K. during the pandemic, rekindling a secret romance with Owen while she’s at it. Gwyn is the only woman in Owen’s life who’s ever been able to match wits with him. Their relationship is as fun and sexy as it is volatile, their banter practically a contact sport.”
Raisani previews that season 2 will “see them get a second chance at the great romance of their lives in the most unconventional of ways.” This won’t be the first time Lowe and Edelstein are on-screen partners. The two worked together in several episodes of the first season of The West Wing in 1999-2000.
In the recent winter preview for the upcoming season, it seems like Owen and Gwenyth will be getting very cozy together, as T.K. points out to his divorced parents that the house does not have very thick walls.
Season 2 of 9-1-1: Lone Star premieres on Monday, January 18 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, following the season 4 premiere of 9-1-1 on FOX. Season 1 of Lone Star is currently streaming on Hulu and the FOX NOW app.
