Shudder, AMC’s prime source of all things Halloween to get viewers in the spooky spirit, has announced this year’s “Ghoul Log,” the 24/7 streaming jack-o’lantern that was created by Trick ‘r Treat director Michael Dougherty (Godzilla: King of the Monsters).

Ghoul Log was created in 2018, in an effort to do what the Yule log has done for the Christmas spirit, this year’s edition is the first time Ghoul log will be inspired by an iconic film. The special edition titled Ghoul Log Trick ‘r Treat Sam O’Lantern, is inspired by Dougherty’s beloved film Trick ‘r Treat and its iconic star, Sam! It is available to stream on Shudder now, both on-demand and will be available soon 24/7 via Shudder’s in-app TV feed.

In a statement to the press, Dougherty said, “Thanks to the ongoing dumpster fire that is 2020, Halloween is going to be yet another stay-at-home activity for a lot of people, so I hope the Sam O’Lantern brings a bit of light and magick to all those in need of some holiday spirit.”
