Top Five Best Moments in ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Trailer

FANDOMTop Five Best Moments in 'The Mandalorian' Season 2 Trailer

The Mandalorian Season 2 is on every Star Wars fan’s mind right now since the nearly two-minute long trailer was released last week. We’re breaking down the top five best moments from the trailer and why they make us so excited for the new season.

5. “Wherever I go, he goes.”

This moment in the trailer embodies what this whole show is about: The Mandalorian protecting The Child. While new characters will be introduced this season, the main focus — as mentioned in the trailer by The Armorer — is for Din Djarin, the Mandalorian, to find The Child’s own kind. This line tells the audience that Mando means business, and won’t let anything harm The Child.

In the trailer, Din says this line while we see him carrying The Child while walking into some sort of ice cave. The planet he’s on isn’t specified, however there are theories that it’s Ilum, an ice planet in the Unknown Regions that was used by Jedi younglings to find and harvest kyber crystals for lightsabers. On his quest to find the Jedi, Ilum seems like a great place to look.

4. X-wings helping (or chasing) Mando and The Child

One moment that really got Star Wars fans excited for the new season was seeing X-Wings. Now this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the starfighters in The Mandalorian, but the brief scene in the first season doesn’t compare to the glimpse we got in the trailer.

X-Wings appear next to the Razor Crest, Mando’s ship, and soon the pilots, likely with the New Republic, are trailing the father son duo. Right now, we aren’t sure if the X-Wing pilots are friends or enemies, but either way, we can’t wait to see some epic flying!

3. Who is that hooded woman?

Now to the mysterious hooded woman that has many fans scratching their heads. As of right now, we don’t know who she is, but the way she was spying on Mando and The Child before disappearing is causing a lot of talk within the Star Wars fandom. Many theories are circling the internet including a live-action version of Sabine Wren or a completely new character who is a Jedi. What we do know is that WWE wrestler Sasha Banks is playing the mystifying character.

The unknown that surrounds the brief glimpse of this character makes this part of the trailer that much better. She has piqued the audiences interest without giving a lot away. Whoever she is, we’re excited to learn more.

2. The Child closing his pod

It’s no surprise that this moment is one of our favorites. Anytime The Child is on screen, it’s bound to be adorable and we definitely were not disappointed. After seeing his dad get the Whistling Bird ready to fight his opponents, which is a weapon used by Mandalorians that fly through the air hitting its targets, The Child knows exactly what’s about to go down and takes cover.

Although it was brief, this moment was such a bright spot in the mostly intense trailer, bringing smiles to all of our faces. It reaffirms that The Child is just as cute as ever and let’s us know that we can expect more precious moments in the rest of the season.

1. The Fight

And lastly our favorite moment in the new trailer truly shows how dangerous Din can really be. The fight at the end takes place in some sort of alien wrestling ring, and even though he’s outnumbered, Din comes out on top. It’s very similar to the bar fight in the first episode of season one.

The fact that the majority of the fight can’t be seen by the audience and the sounds of bodies hitting the ground is all we have to go off of, adds so much more to the moment. The audience then sees the end of the fight, just as Din throws an arrow into his last opponent saying “this is the way.” The scene truly shows what it means to be a Mandalorian warrior.

These are just a few moments in the trailer that make us excited for Season 2! You can watch the first season on Disney+ right now, and streaming begins for the second season on October 30.
