The take no prisoner, former special operative is back. MacGruber, the character that parodies MacGyver, is getting his own series on Peacock in 2021. Before you ask, yes, Will Forte is going to be MacGruber, as well as a writer and executive producer along with Lorne Michaels, John Solomon, and director Jorma Taccone.

The official synopsis for the plot is:

After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot, MacGruber (Will Forte), is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past—Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must race against time to defeat the forces of evil — only to find that evil… may be lurking within.

It is not known if any of the characters from the 2010 movie will be returning as well. And to think that this eccentric character started out as a sketch on Saturday Night Live in 2007. The MacGruber series will air on Peacock in 2021. Check out the announcement trailer below.
