Nickelodeon and CBS Television Studios Announce Title for New Animated ‘Star Trek’ Series

Get ready for some exciting news, Trekkies!

During the Star Trek Universe panel for Comic-Con@Home, Nickelodeon and CBS Television Studios revealed the title for an upcoming original animated Star Trek series. The new show is titled Star Trek: Prodigy. The show will follow a group of lawless teens who discover and use a broken-down Starfleet vessel to seek out adventure, meaning, and salvation. It is developed by Emmy winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters).

The series will debut exclusively on Nickelodeon in 2021. It joins the Star Trek Universe for ViacomCBS, CBS Eye Animation Productions, CBS Television Studios, and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth will executive produce along with Kevin and Dan Hageman. Aaron Baiers will serve as a co-executive producer.
