FutureTechLive! Goes Virtual Today as Part of Comic-Con@Home

FutureTechLive! is returning to San Diego Comic Con for its fifth year, however like the rest of the convention, it is going virtual as part of Comic-Con@Home.

FutureTechLive! showcases the latest advancements in technology such as gaming, virtual reality and augmented reality. However, this year the showcase and the technology will be combined in a unique experience. The virtual “World Builder” activation will allow attendees to walk around FutureTechLive! and explore and interact as they wish.

The virtual showcase will include exhibitors such as Unity, Parallux, Deploy VR and more. Other virtual attractions will include a scavenger hunt, The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum and the World Builders Lounge, a tribute to pop-culture world-builders such as George Lucas, Stan Lee and Steven Spielberg. For a full list of exhibitors and to download the virtual “World Builder” activation, check out the Parallux website. The experience will be running from July 23-26.

A special event from Food Channel and SugarGeek Studios, “SpongeBob Virtual Pancake Cooking Party!”, will also be taking place at 10 a.m. PST on both July 25 and 26. Attendees can cook along live with cake master, Liz Marek, to make pancakes shaped like their favorite SpongeBob characters. Attendees can take photos of their creations (or failures) and post them in the world builders lounge photo gallery to win prizes! To take part in this free event, you need to register at the Food Channel website.

FutureTechLive! is also presenting a panel, “World Builders: The Evolution of Immersive Entertainment” on July 26 at 3 p.m. PST. The panellists include representatives from some of the companies that are the driving force behind the evolution of virtual production. The panellists are currently set to include Isabelle Riva (Unity Technology), Ted Schilowitz (Paramount Pictures), Kwaku Aning (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Thinking), Emilie Joly (Apelab), Brooks Brown (ViRvii), Asad J. Malik (IRIC/JADU) and moderated by David Bloom (Forbes).

Make sure you check out this unique experience as part of Comic-Con@Home! For more information, you can go to futuretechlive.com or comic-con.org.
