‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunner’ Coming to Netflix in 2022

There have been multiple announcements of video games being turned into either movies or series lately. Cyberpunk 2077 is the latest to release that they are adapting the game to a Netflix anime series.

Coming in 2022, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a 10-episode anime, is said to be told in the same universe of the game but will be a new story with some new characters. The summary according to IMDb is:

Based on CD Project RED’s ‘Cyberpunk 2077,’ the story follows a street kid in a tech-filled and body modification-obsessed city. To survive and with nothing to lose, he chooses to become a mercenary outlaw, also known as an edgerunner.

Heading the series is director Hiroyuki Imaishi (Kill la Kill), screenplay written by Yoshiki Usa and Masahiko Otsuka, and the anime studio of Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red are the developers.
