On July 8, fans of the Halloween movie franchise received devastating news.

The highly anticipated sequel to Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills, which was set to be released this October, has officially been postponed until October 2021.  The decision was made based on the current situation regarding COVID-19. The news came in a statement released by John Carpenter and David Gorden Green via twitter.

However, even in light of the disappointing news, fans were still treated with a 30-second teaser trailer. Universal Pictures released the trailer following the announcement of the film’s delay.

The Halloween Kills teaser trailer picks up where Halloween (2018) left off, showing Laurie Strode, her daughter, and granddaughter after escaping the intense showdown with Michael Myers. It’s raining, with fire trucks coming in the distance after Laurie’s home goes up in flames. We are left with Laurie screaming, “Let it burn!” Watch the teaser below.
