Adam Driver Attached to New Project ‘Yankee Comandante’

Share

According to Variety, Adam Driver is attached to star in an adaptation of Yankee Comandante, from director Jeff Nichols. The duo previously worked together on Midnight Special, which Nichols had also written and directed.

Here’s more about the film’s premise, according to Variety:

The film is based on David Grann’s New Yorker article about two people who rose to the rank of comandante during the Cuban Revolution. One was Che Guevara. The other was a man from Ohio.

The start of production is still up in the air due to COVID-19, and Driver was in the middle of filming The Last Duel with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck when production was halted due to the pandemic. No word yet on when production will resume for that, either. Driver also most recently was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Marriage Story, which you can stream now on Netflix.

Stay tuned for more information!
