Chris Hemsworth is no stranger to action movie genre. He has successfully based a career on his iconic role as Thor in the Marvel movies and added to that with a diverse range of movies, from Rush, the Ghostbusters reboot, and more recently Men in Black: International.

In Extraction, Hemsworth reteams with Joe Russo, who’s part of director/writer/producer duo The Russo Brothers, who worked on an array of Marvel movies, including Avengers: Endgame. Hemsworth and Russo bring to life the story of mercenary Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), who gets caught up in a rescue mission of a kidnapped boy who has become “a pawn in a war between notorious drug lords,” according to the plot summary on IMDb.

Next to Hemsworth, the movie also stars David Harbour (newly introduced to the world of Marvel thanks to his role in Black Widow), Golshifteh Farahani (known for Paterson and The Night Eats the World), Pankaj Tripathi, and others. It is diirected by Sam Hargrave, who has served as action and stunt coordinator for numerous Marvel projects.

Extraction is a Netflix production and will hit the streaming service on April 24. Judging from the trailer, it will not only be an action movie, but also a drama filled with character development, unusual friendships, and an exploration of the world of crime.

Conny joined her first fandom at the tender age of three and somehow never stopped finding new things to obsess about and love. Her current love is everything Marvel, especially two characters who tend to be frozen at one point or the other. From Drag Race to Harry Potter or musical theatre, as long as it makes her smile (or cry), it’s probably her thing.
