Disney has released a trailer and poster for The Call of the Wild. The movie is a live-action, CGI-animated adventure film based on the legendary short adventure novel The Call of the Wild by Jack London. It’s a remake of the 1972 film of the same name. The novel was set in 1890s Yukon, Canada. Due to the Klondike Gold Rush, strong sled dogs were in high demand during this time.

Check out the trailer below.

The Call of the Wild is the live-action directorial debut of Chris Sanders (who you may know as the voice of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch). It stars Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones, Star Wars), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bradley Whitford (The West Wing), Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), and Adam Fergus (Supernatural). You can watch an exclusive Nerds and Beyond interview with Adam Fergus here, where he mentions working on The Call of The Wild. (Note: the release date for The Call of the Wild has changed since this interview.)

The Call of the Wild is scheduled to hit theaters February 21, 2020.
