Misha Collins Publishes an Article with NYT Parenting
Supernatural actor Misha Collins is a man of many talents. Between acting as a series regular on the long-standing CW sci-fi Supernatural, being a father to two children, a husband, and a philanthropist through his work with his charity Random Acts, there’s one more thing we can add — author.
Misha has written a few published pieces in the past, he’s been known to share some original poetry on his social media or at events now and again, he’s got a new cookbook on the way co-written with his wife, journalist and historian Vicki Collins, entitled The Adventurous Eaters Club, and just today an article titled “Even Without a Home, We Always Had a Family Meal” was published by NYT Parenting.
I wanted to tell my youngest child that there was no place I’d rather be than with her, that I was here and that I always would be. But instead of saying those words, I set down my phone and I told her I loved her in the clearest way that I know how. “Maison,” I said, “if you could have any breakfast this morning, what would it be?” And before sunrise we had finished a feast of cheese and spinach omelets and raspberry waffles with whipped cream and peppermint tea. -Misha Collins, NYT Parenting
The article itself shows a briefly summarized journey of Collins’ upbringing, before branching into his current family dynamic all while sharing the importance of a family meal. The positive effects of something we see as a minor detail are seen much different through smaller eyes, and Collins reflects on that in both his own childhood and the lives of his two children. Read it, and then check out the Collins’ cookbook, set to be released on November 5.
