With just over a month until the premiere of the eagerly awaited adaptation, HBO released a full length trailer for His Dark Materials. The series is based on the internationally acclaimed trilogy by Philip Pullman, and the first season is based on the first novel The Golden Compass (also known as Northern Lights.) All of the main characters appear in the trailer, with Dafne Keen as Lyra receiving significant screen time alongside her adult costars James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

His Dark Materials is a co-production between HBO and the BBC. This is the second major screen adaptation of the source material, with The Golden Compass from 2007 being the first. The series stars Dafne Keen, Ruth Wilson, James McAvoy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Clarke Peters, and Anne-Marie Duff alongside a large ensemble cast. It has already been renewed for an eight-episode second season.

His Dark Materials debuts in the US on Monday, November 4 on HBO after premiering November 3 on BBC One.
