Aaron Mahnke, the creator and host of the thrilling podcasts Lore and Aaron Mahnke’s Cabinet of Curiosities, as well as an executive producer of the Lore Amazon television show and author of The World of Lore book series is back at it with a second season of the podcast Unobscured. Unlike his other podcasts that focus on a different story or topic each episode, Unobscured is a weekly podcast taking a deep dive into a single topic throughout the season. Unobscured consists of Mahnke (Host, Executive Producer, Head Writer), Matt Frederick (Executive Producer, Editor/Engineer), Alex Williams (Supervising Producer, Editor/Engineer), Carl Nellis (Lead Researcher), and Chad Lawson (Composer), as well as a number of historians. Mahnke describes it as such:

“History is full of stories we think we know. They are old and dark, but time has robbed us of perspective and clarity. They’ve become obscured and misunderstood. That’s why this series exists: to dig deep and shed light on some of history’s darkest moments. To make it Unobscured.”

Season one of Unobscured delved into the dark events of the Salem, Massachusetts witch trials of 1692. Each episode paired Mahnke’s unique storytelling with historian interviews to give a full understanding of the events that occurred before, during and after the trials. Season two will dive head first into the world of Spiritualism and the worldwide movement that began with Andrew Jackson Davis in the nineteenth century. Beginning on October 2, new episodes will be available every Wednesday.
