D23 is in full swing and with that comes new projects from Marvel Studios!
Announced tonight at the Expo were three new original series: Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel! These three will join the already impressive lineup of new Disney+ Marvel content announced at San Diego Comic-Con such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, WandaVision, Loki, and What If…?.
Moon Knight

Moon Knight, also known as Marc Spector, debuted back in 1975 in the horror series Werewolf by Night. After a fight gone wrong in Egypt, Marc is brought to the temple of Khonshu, the moon god, where he strikes a bargain with the God to enact his will on Earth in exchange for a second chance at life. His story is riddled with mental health issues and instability, which has been teased to play a role in the series. He is described as “struggling with multiple personalities and amoral inclinations”.
She-Hulk

Comic lovers will be familiar with She-Hulk as Jennifer Walters, cousin to the infamous Bruce Banner. After a blood transfusion from Banner, she’s turned into a Gamma-powered superhero. She-Hulk is a controlled version of her cousin, while also being one of the foremost superhero law experts. Given the same strength and power, with less of the uncontrolled rage, it makes her a force to be reckoned with.
Ms. Marvel

Not to be confused with Captain Marvel (although she did hold the title first,) we’ll be seeing Kamela Khan picking up the moniker as the first Muslim superhero. Kamela is the fourth reincarnation of Ms. Marvel and also the most recent. While she has her own series for now, we know she’ll also be joining up in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films! In the series we’ll see Kamela, a Pakistani-American from New Jersey, balance her newfound Kree shapeshifting powers with life as a high schooler.
