‘Criminal’ Starring David Tennant, Hayley Atwell Announced
Netflix announced the cast, title, and first teaser for its new crime procedural today. Criminal will highlight different crime cases in several European countries (Germany, Spain, The U.K., etc.), and its only location will be an interrogation room. The series will highlight not only different cases in different countries, but also different systems of justice and connections between them in Europe.
Netflix hasn’t released any information whether the cases shown will be true stories, but the set-up alone is looking to be interesting.
The cast announcements include some acting heavyweights: David Tennant, who has starred in award-winning crime series Broadchurch and is back on everyone’s radar since his recent success with Good Omens has signed on, as has Hayley Atwell, who most recently starred in Blinded By The Light. Tennant and Atwell will both appear in the episode highlighting The U.K. The cast will also include Margot Bancilhon, Laurent Lucas, Stéphane Jobert, Eva Meckbach, Sylvester Groth, Florence Kasumba, Jorge Bosch, José Ángel Egido, and Nuria Mencía.
Criminal will premiere on Netflix this autumn. You can watch the teaser trailer below!
