Warner Brothers has released the teaser trailer for the sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep, which will be released on Nov. 8 this year! Both stories are based on books written by Stephen King.
The movie stars Ewan McGregor (known for his roles in Star Wars, Christopher Robin, and Trainspotting), Rebecca Ferguson (who stars in the new Men In Black film and also starred in Greatest Showman) and Jacob Tremblay (The Room) and will be set several years after the events of The Shining (which was adapted as a movie by Stanley Kubrick in 1980).
Ewan McGregor plays Dan — the adult version of Danny, the son in The Shining who used his powers to alert people of the strange occurrences in the hotel. In Doctor Sleep, he will meet a young girl with the same powers and is set to protect her from a cult called The Knot, which is threatening children like her for their agenda.
The teaser showed a variety of references to Kubrick’s film, like the twins in the hotel hallway, Dan looking through a hole in the wall, and other frames reminiscent of the 80s masterpiece. This short teaser has definitely sparked interest and promises a spooky film for this fall.
