Broadway’s Brooks Ashmanskas (The Prom, Sunday in the Park with George) received a Sardi’s caricature portrait on Tuesday, May 28.
A Sardi’s caricature is basically “Broadway’s Unofficial Hall of Fame!” Though Sardi’s Restaurant opened in 1921, the owners’ idea of their now world-famous caricature portraits started in 1927. Since then, stars and “ordinary people” alike have come for a bite to eat and to see the portraits hanging in the restaurant.

Nathan Lane also stopped by for the unveiling! Ashmanskas is nominated for a 2019 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical as Barry Glickman in The Prom.
