The cast of Broadway’s seven Tony Award nominated musical, The Prom, performed on The View Thursday, May 30. They sang and danced to “You Happened,” the fun and upbeat ‘promposal’ song!

After the performance, hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin talked to Caitlin Kinnunen, Isabelle McCalla, and the cast about the importance of seeing The Prom.

Kinnunen explained, “It’s important for people to see this show because it’s a message of acceptance and tolerance and listening and I think that is something that America needs right now. It’s also really important for LGBTQ youth to see themselves represented in a positive light and our show does that.”
