With season 15 of Supernatural looming on the horizon, we are all eagerly waiting to hear news about potential writers and directors for the final season. During the Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins panel at the Jus In Bello Convention in Rome on May 19th, Ackles confirmed some exciting news that fans have been hoping to hear — he will be back in the director’s chair for an episode of season 15!

Ackles stated that he is slated to direct the first episode that the crew is shooting, so it remains to be seen if that will be the first episode of the season or not.

This will be Ackles’ sixth directorial venture on Supernatural. The last episode that he directed was in season 11, “The Bad Seed.” He has also directed “Weekend at Bobby’s,” “The Girl Next Door,” “Heartache,” and “Soul Survivor.”
