(He’s joking folks. He’s thrilled!)

The show, which seemed at times to have some trouble finding a foothold between comedy and sci-fi drama, found its sweet spot during the second season. They doubled down on exploring some more “timeless” sci-fi show tropes, and then promptly spun them on their head to explore a different part of the human condition. Fans of shows like Star Trek were treated to episodes like “All the World is a Birthday Cake” and “Lasting Impressions,” which seemed almost predictable until they absolutely weren’t, and it was a beautiful thing to watch.

MacFarlane and crew have a knack for paying homage to what we love about sci-fi, and then adding a fresh humorous spin. We can’t wait to see what the third season has in store!
