Fans of the latest Star Wars animated series, Star Wars Resistance, have quite a few things to be excited about right now.

First and foremost, an official mid-season trailer has been released. The show, which premiered on Disney Channel last October, has aired eleven episodes and twelve shorts to date. The first season will pick back up on January 13.

For those who have not yet had a chance to watch the series, the main premise of the show is, “Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot for the Resistance, is tasked with a top secret mission to investigate the First Order, a growing threat in the galaxy.”

Star Wars Resistance was created by Dave Filoni, head of Lucasfilm Animation and veteran of other animated hits: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (both the movie and the TV series) and Star Wars Rebels.

The trailer teased the appearance of a well-known villain, General Hux. It appears that the series, which is set six months before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will finally be crossing over with the aforementioned film.

Finally, Disney also announced that Star Wars Resistance has been renewed for a second season. Season 2 will air on Disney Channel starting Fall 2019.
